For the mind that won’t switch off

By Shirley D Palmer

So, do you ever wish you could switch your mind off for just a little while, or perhaps you lie awake at night replaying conversations. Maybe you spend so much time looking after everyone else that you’ve forgotten what you need. Or perhaps life looks fine on the outside, but underneath you’re carrying stress, worry, grief, self-doubt, or a feeling that you’ve somehow lost yourself along the way.

If any of that sounds familiar, I hope you’ll find something helpful here.

My name is Shirley D Palmer and I’m a Hypnotherapist and Coach. I work with people who struggle with sleep, stress, anxiety, overwhelm, confidence and self-belief.

Some of my clients come to me because they can’t switch off at night. Others feel stuck in overthinking, worry, self-doubt or grief. Many are simply exhausted from carrying too much for too long.

Together, we work towards creating calmer minds, better sleep, greater confidence and a life that feels lighter and easier to manage.

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing tips, insights, free resources such as audios and guided relaxations and also occasional information about how I work with clients.

Whether we’ve met in person, connected online, crossed paths through networking, attended an event together, or perhaps you’ve downloaded something from me in the past, I’m delighted you’re here.

This is actually my first email to my wider community, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to introduce myself properly and share a little about who I am and why I do what I do.

You see, for many years I struggled with confidence, self-belief and just not feeling good enough. Like many people, I became very good at putting everyone else’s needs first whilst quietly carrying my own worries, fears and challenges and over the years I’ve learned that life can feel very heavy when we’re trying to carry everything alone.

The work I do today comes not only from my professional training, but also from my own experiences of rebuilding confidence, navigating life’s difficult seasons, and discovering that sometimes the strongest thing we can do is ask for support.

If these emails aren’t quite right for you, perhaps you know somebody who struggles to switch off at night, lies awake worrying, feels overwhelmed by life or the after effects of grief. Or maybe battling stress or anxiety, has lost confidence in themselves, or is carrying more than they let people see.

If so, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d pass my details on. Sometimes the right person simply needs to know that help is available.

Thank you for being here and I look forward to sharing more with you very soon. ❤️
